Everest Chola pass Trek with (Sappa guide)

This is an outstanding trek visiting the high lush valleys of the Khumbu with time to explore villages and monasteries. and Time to sample the incredible hospitality of the Sherpa people. This adventure begins with a sweeping flight to Lukla, a popular destination which provides a fascinating contrast to the high mountain scapes. This trek leads to Phakding on the first day. Next On the second day then, we trek ahead to the Sherpa capital at Namche Bazaar.

With We take time to acclimatize, before following the quite trail to Gokyo and Khumjung village in the high valley and visiting the ancient Buddhist monastery here.
At Gokyo, we take a morning hike to Gokyo Ri top for the world's most fabulous views of the surrounding peaks and landscape including the giant Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu and Cho Oyu. This journey includes a visit to Khumjung village seldom frequented by trekkers. The trek continues on with an incredible view of Khangtiaga, Thermasarkhu and the Nuptse - Lhotse wall with the Mt. Everest rearing above. On this We crossing the high Tshola pass at 5,430m and heading towards Loboche for another adventure to Kalapathar 5,545m and 6 on to Everest Base Camp, and making way through lovely forests towards Pangboche and Thyangboche the many highlights of the adventure. The views along the trail throughout are tremendous, providing a panorama of snow capped chain of mountain ranges to all sides and many more exciting fun and enjoyment on the way.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu Airport & Transfer to Hotel
Welcome dinner in the evening.

Day 02: Full day Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley.

Day 03: Kathmandu - Lukla (2860m) - fly in the morning for 45 minutes then Commence trek to Phakding (2600m) - 4 hours.

Day 04: Phakding - Namche Bazar (3446m) - 5/ hours.

Day 05; Namche Bazar, one-day rest for acclimatization.
Acclimatization is important before trekking higher, and this is a scheduled stop, which will allow you to gradually become used to the effects of altitude - the lower pressure and the thinner air. You can spend the day by taking a side trip to Thami or Khumjung, by visiting the National Park Visitor Center on the hill above Namche or by simply resting and browsing in the shops in the town. Namche is a fascinating place simply to 'hang out' and take in the culture of the mountains, from the trading of visiting Tibetans to the stories of departing mountaineers.

Day 06: Namche Bazar - Tengboche (3867m) - 6 hours.

Day 07: Tengboche - Dingboche (4343m) - 6 hours.
Descend from Tengboche and cross the Imja Khola, then side hills gradually to Pangboche. An interesting Gompa site above the main village. The trekker is the midst of the Himalayas here with spectacular views all around. Dingboche lying in a shelter spot above the Imja Khola is generally more attractive. It is however note that Himalayan Rescue Association has their aid post at Pheriche.

Day 08: Dingboche - Lobuche (4930m) - 5½ hours.

Day 09: Lobuche - Gorakhshep (5200m) - 4 hours.

Start early in the morning to get Kalapattar. This is the place from where you can see the wide view of the Everest. Your dream will come true here.

I met Sappa on my first trek in Nepal in 2008. On this trek I was accompanied by my two sons. From our initial meeting at the airport we knew that we were in good hands for whatever awaited us on our trek.
We found Sappa to be an excellent, experienced and knowledgeable guide. He was very attentive to our needs and ensured that our trek was trouble free. His assistance and advice to us on acclimatization was invaluable, particularly as we approached the higher altitudes around Lobuche.
We were also very impressed by the little things Sappa did for us, such as, providing a daily supply of little bananas and chocolate bars on our way to Everest Base Camp, taking us to local restaurants and introducing us to local culture and food as well as teaching us Nepalese card games.
Sappa is such a fantastic guide, and with so much to see in the Nepal Himalaya, we have started planning our next trek with him.
I highly recommend to anyone contemplating trekking in Nepal that they get in touch with Sappa. He will not let you down.

We took an 11-day trekking trip with Sappa and a porter in the Langtang and Helambu region in Mai 2011. We entered Langtang valley at Syabrubesi, trekked up to Kyanjin Gompa and continued to Helambu via Gosaikunda lake and the Lauribina La pass. The trek was wonderful. It leads through different vegetation zones with rich an colourful flora and fauna and amazing Himalaya mountain views. It also offered a deep insight into the Tamang culture and the customs, life and tradditions of Nepalese, Tibetan and Tamang people.

Sappa is a very experienced guide who knows the region very well. He did a great job at scheduling the daily treks and adapting the length and speed of trekking to our personal needs and desires. In particular, he was a good consultant regarding any issues of altitude sickness. Sappa handled all issues with the lodges, local government officials, bus and taxi drivers with great care. He answered all our questions regarding names of mountain tops, nature and other details of the area with great excitment. It was a pleasure to listen to Sappa's anecdotes on life, religion, politics and nature of Nepal and Nepalese people. Sappa's story-telling and humour has made the trek an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend Sappa as understanding, experienced, funny and sympathetic guide. After eleven days in the remoteness of the Himalaya our guide has become a friend.

I trekked with Sappa twice. Once in 2012 and once in 2013. I can safely say that if you're looking for a wonderful guide with a real knowledge of Nepal, and an understanding for the needs of visitors, then Sappa and his team at "Nepal Base Camp Treks" are the ones for you. From the wonderful and warm greeting we had at the airport, to the brilliant camping and interesting stories exchanged whilst trekking through the HImalayas, Sappa was always exceedingly professional, cheerful and helpful. He has a vast knowledge of Nepal, a great love for his country, and services that will no doubt help provide an experience of this country that you will never forget!"

For those who do not speak French, Sappa is a great guide. He is always in a good mood and his very knowledgeable about his country. I have trekked 3 times with him. I hope to go back there soon to see my great friend again!

"I trekked with Sappa to EBC in 2007. We were introduced to him by three groups of friends who had each trekked with him before on the others' recommendation. They were not wrong. Sappa ensured we were comfortable and from the moment we arrived in Nepal. Organising everything from transport to our hotel to making sure I'd all the gear needed for our trek. He even wanted to carry my pack! during the trek the high level of service continued. Sappa was knowledgeable and we felt confident in his ability at all times. He made the trip fun and was always making us laugh. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending my friend Sappa. I'm happy to be contacted if anyone wanted further information'
